It was reported that the leaked copy has run time of 2 hours 20 minutes. Phantom films had filed a copyright theft case and soon all the illegally downloading links had been removed from torrent sites due to copyright complaint.
A suspician has been raised over CBFC, they are allegedly accused by maker of Udta Punjab that the copy of film which has been submitted to censor board is leaked online and this print featured all the scenes which Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was trying to remove from the film.
Earlier, CBFC was demanding to trim wings of Udta Punjab by making 89 cuts in the film but its Revising Committee on June 6 came down to 13 cuts which also overruled by the court, clearing the path of Udta Punjab to fly inside theatres with one cut and three disclaimers on 17th of june.
It was kind of a humiliating defeat for Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and Pahlaj Nihalani and now sensor board is allegedly accused of piracy and leaking Udta Punjab.
We are not sure if CBFC and Pahlaj Nihalani would have leaked the submitted print of Udta Punjab online, two days before the scheduled release but the pirated version that leaked online has watermark that suggest it was leaked by censor board.
Is Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) really that dumb to commit such a crime or someone is framing them, to find out final conclusion of this drama, lets wait for this issue to be solved.
